Happiness Delivered

Alrighty so here’s my review. It didn’t take long to read this book. It’s a conversational, enjoyable read. As business books go I’d give it a B+. That said, it’s worth reading. The company follows through on it’s promise to WOW customers through great customer service. In fact when they told me I’d get an [...]

Finally finished, and SOLD!

I am bursting with pride to report that I finally finished my young adult novel, I Got My First Kiss in a Bomb Shelter, AND I signed with Writer’s House. Within a week, my debut novel was sold to Street Cred a brand new division for YA at Random House. I am simply speechless with the [...]

Last but not least …

The third book in the cover contest gets posted today! Which one do you pick?

Nanowrimo Cover Contest Entry–Now Closed

The entry period for the win a free cover contest is now closed—but there’s always next year if you missed it.
I’ve received a number of entries and have only just started reading. The selection of three winners will hard! But you’re all winners—what an accomplishment! A novel in a month it still boggles my mind.
My [...]

The book as animated art….

This just leaves me speechless. I can’t decide if it’s really cut paper, stop-motion animation or if it’s CG. If it is real then wow. Just wow. If it is CG, it’s still pretty impressive.

And the winner is…

Number 2! The author and I had chosen number 2 before our little poll went up. (Not that my choice has anything to do with it!) It’s great to see that the vast majority of the commentors agreed with us. I’m quite happy with this sunny, funny, and cute cover. And Judy is excited too. [...]

Cover designs—Which did we choose? Which do you?

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about design. Below are some covers that I designed for a recent book project. This is a self published work by Judy McFadden, who really wanted the best chance for her book—so naturally she came to me!  This is a memoir about her wonderful dog McDuff, who was a [...]

Conspiracy theorists may now stand down.

What I said in my earlier post still holds true as far as the opinions I hold, especially in regard to morality being a personal responsibility. But we were ALL (and I am pointing mainly at the TWITterers), speculating without hard evidence. We may never get a satisfactory explanation, but I think this pretty much [...]

March is small press month!

That probably doesn’t mean much to the general public. But if you work for a small press (publisher), or are published by one, this is the month to celebrate all they do. Aside from drafting fan mail (and that’s not a bad idea), what can you do to recognize those little publishers that take a [...]

Meet the author: Betty Auchard

Today I’m beginning an interview with author Betty Auchard. Betty’s first book, Dancing in My Nightgown, the Rhythms of Widowhood is her memoir of losing her husband of 49 years, getting through the grief, and learning to live again—in a whole new way. Far from being a morose downer, Betty’s stories are touching, inspiring, upbeat, [...]
