Janet Evanovich’s day is just like mine!

With apologies for yanking this from her site. The life of a stay-at-home book designer is remarkably similar to that of a bestselling author. Who knew?
Janet Evanovich, what is your work day really like?
I drag myself out of bed around six, shove myself into the clothes laying on the floor and plod down the road [...]

Filedby.com update

A couple of weeks back wrote about a new online promotion resource for authors called Filedby.com. At the time they advertised that they would allow “contributors” to also create a page to showcase their works. I created a page for myself, but found I could not add the books on which I had contributed design [...]

A new Author OnLine Directory

A new directory of authors went live in March 2009. Filedby.com Is organized to promote authors not individual titles. In a recent press release from Filedby.Inc of Nashville, TN, the company says:

Rejection at the Hands of Agents

I recently attended the LV Writers Conference. In the next few posts I’ll write up some of my impressions and include some nuggets of what I thought was useful information. I have to say that this isn’t the best conference, in my limited experience with writers conferences. And if I’d had to pay for it, [...]

Conspiracy theorists may now stand down.

What I said in my earlier post still holds true as far as the opinions I hold, especially in regard to morality being a personal responsibility. From Free Podiobook to Bestseller

Another salvo in the changing battlefield of publishing shows that innovative and tech-saavy authors can win an audience and eventually a publisher. This article titled “Podcasting Your Novel: Publishing’s Next Wave?” reports on a fast growing trend that I have known about for a while.
I am addicted to audiobooks. If not for them I would [...]

Library Thing

Does anybody use LibraryThing? Well, I know over 500,000 people are signed up, but does anybody here reading this use it? I signed up as a user back in July of 07, and then promptly forgot about it. The idea of entering all my books manually just seemed overwhelming. But now I see that they [...]
